Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin's first-half objective was sufficient for triumph on account of Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman's second-half punishment spare.

Woodman denied Adalberto Penaranda from the spot after the Malaga forward was fouled by Kyle Walker-Peters.

The official indicated the spot to flag a punishment before promptly alluding to the video colleague arbitrator.

The choice stood - there was the smallest of contacts - however Newcastle attendant Woodman's solid palm kept out Penaranda's exertion.
